Buffet-style dinners are the perfect answer when you are catching up with friends, enjoying a family get-together or even a good choice for a first date. Why? Because it takes away the pain of deciding what to eat (for fussy eaters) and what type of cuisine to decide on and allows the awkwardness of “how to pay for the bill at the end of the night”. This article will give you a rundown on one of my recent trips to an amazing buffet-style restaurant in Singapore, where you will find a great location, explain how it is different to other restaurants and the price and opening hours of the newly refreshed Estate Restaurant at The Hilton Orchard.

Nestled within the luxurious confines of Hilton Orchard, The Estate Restaurant offers a gastronomic journey like no other. Boasting an elegant ambience and a menu curated to tantalise the taste buds, it stands as a beacon of culinary excellence in the heart of Singapore.

Have you been to The Grand Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Hilton Singapore Orchard’s Estate?

What to Expect at the Estate Restaurant

As you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by an atmosphere that exudes warmth, from the staff’s friendly smiles to the dining area’s beautiful aesthetics, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The culinary team at The Estate Restaurant, led by renowned chefs with a passion for innovation and quality, has meticulously crafted a menu that celebrates the rich tapestry of flavours from around the world. The Estate’s new collection of cooked-to-order chef’s signatures (launched on 12 March 2024) is exactly what I came to try, and I can tell you now I was not disappointed.

From contemporary interpretations of local classics to exquisite international dishes, each offering is a masterpiece in its own right. Indulge in a symphony of flavours, with every dish expertly prepared using the finest locally and globally sourced ingredients.

One of the highlights of dining at The Estate Restaurant is the impeccable service provided by the attentive staff. Devoted to exceeding expectations, the team ensures that every aspect of the dining experience is flawless, from when you are seated to the final moments of your meal. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two, a celebratory gathering with friends and family, or a business dinner, The Estate Restaurant caters to every occasion.

The Estate Restaurant also offers a thoughtfully curated wine selection, with varietals chosen to complement the flavours of each dish. You can embark on a journey of discovery as you explore the wine choice, guided by the expertise of the restaurant’s staff.

What are the cooked-to-order dishes?

  • Slow-roasted Tomahawk, a prime cut paired with black truffle sauce, homemade Yorkshire pudding, and mustard.
  • Pan-seared foie gras with apple and passion fruit compote and port wine glaze—an ode to Director of Culinary Vijayakant Shanmugam’s early culinary journey.
  • Estate’s iconic Signature Black Truffle Roasted Duck, with charcoal rice and truffle hoisin sauce
  • Deep-fried Frog Leg with Yunnan Mushroom Rice
  • Signature Octopus served alongside homemade potato gnocchi and a rich Bolognese sauce.
  • Baby Abalone with Homemade Black Bean Tofu
  • Slipper Lobster with Sarawak White Pepper
  • Balsamic Prawn with Macadamia Nut
  • Steamed White Fish, utilising the freshest catch of the day, paired with green chilli sauce and black bean.
  • Braised Pork Noodles

What else can you find at the buffet stations?

There are ten stations to choose from, yes you heard right! Ten stations start from the Oysters and Seafood Bar, with an entire station full of your favourite seafood varieties like Maine Lobster, King Snow Crab Legs and Freshly Shucked Seasonal Oysters.

There is also the Japanese Kitchen with a Live Nigiri Sushi Bar. There are everything from my favourites, which include freshly crafted nigiri, to a selection of sashimi options. There is also the one-of-a-kind Raclette Cheese Caesar Salad (that I have never seen before), skilfully prepared by a stationed chef, which will leave you finding room for more than one serving (I promise). There is also a vegan salad bar with a huge number of options.

Of course, you can not miss the cheese station, which offers an impressive selection of European cheeses, all complimented by homemade bread, smoked and cured meats, and condiments.

Do not forget to leave room for the dessert station, where the varieties will gobsmack you. Here, you will find a deconstructed dessert jar, an array of cakes and tarts, and Ice Cream, but the most impressive would have to be the Crispy Mochi Waffles served with Pandan Coconut Gelato. There is also an array of fruits for those who prefer to veer on the healthy side.
