Where have you lived?
I grew up in India, but over the past 27 years, I have lived in the UAE, Indonesia, South Korea and Singapore.
Where are you from?
And where do you live now?
I’ve been in Singapore for the past year.
What is the hardest part of living away from your home country?
Family time -Not being there for the family when they need support and missing out on celebrations and family gatherings.
What is the most rewarding part of being an expat?
The realization that wherever you are in the world, people have the same joys, worries and sorrows… so we are all essentially living variations of the same life! I think that realization makes you far more open and accepting.

What advice would you give someone starting on their expat journey?
Accept and welcome the changes coming your way. It makes your journey so much easier and happier.
What is the one tip you could give someone moving to Singapore?
Be prepared for the weather!! That was the only thing that hit me hard.
Where have you loved living the most and why?
Seoul, South Korea. Apart from it being a beautiful country with amazing food, the friends I made and the bonds we developed there have been stronger than my other moves.
What are you doing now?
I currently reside in Singapore, which allows me the privilege of shuttling home to care for my parents and support my children when needed.
