ANOTHER MOTHERS DAY WITHOUT CHILDREN

MOTHERS DAY

Waking up on Mother’s Day without children is a peculiar feeling. Thank goodness for technology and the fact that Facetime is here. So at least I got a chance to see their faces on a special day. Sunday was my second mothers Day without the kids, and it feels rather odd, to be honest.

Having no children on Mother’s Day or being without your mother is just plain weird! It is hard to explain, it is almost like attending your birthday party, but the only person who showed up was your husband!

I am not complaining about the weekend (let me get that straight) because I was spoilt beyond belief by my very thoughtful husband and loving kids (even though they were not here with me).

I feel very blessed that my husband knew this weekend would be hard for me, so he whisked me away on a surprise staycation and a lovely Mother’s Day brunch with friends the next Day. I can not thank him enough for his thoughtfulness during Mother’s Day weekend.

So many of us around the world are feeling the same way right now. They are in the same situation, without their children or own mother to celebrate with on this special Day.

So this post is nothing to do with feeling sorry for myself; it is more of an appreciation post to all the hard-working mothers out there who need a virtual hug. Who are without their children for whatever reason that may keep them apart right now?

It is also a shout-out to a very special guy in my life, who I am fortunate enough to call my partner. And, of course, to my beautiful children, who know how much I miss them and always make me feel extraordinarily lucky on this very special Day.
